Angela Rush, Director of Development

Angela's commitment to the non-profit sector was inspired by a meeting with six adolescent shelter residents who shared their stories of both heartbreak and hope for a better future. That encounter led Angela to volunteerism, an internship, and eventually to AK Child & Family where she began as a Treatment Program supervisor in our Residential Services Program. She then moved to the role of Director of Admissions, where she gently guided parents and referral sources into our care, and currently serves as Director of Development.

Along the way, Angela has worked with children in pre-kindergarten; provided respite care in foster care; supervision in juvenile detention; childcare in a homeless shelter for families; and in-patient residential treatment in an adolescent locked facility. Her myriad experiences give her a clear understanding of the issues our youth and their families face.

As Director of Development, Angela facilitates the development and awareness of our agency by fostering relationships between AK Child & Family and the community, including businesses, individuals, and our stakeholders. She also provides encouragement and guidance to those seeking to support our mission with their stewardship and financial support.

Angela’s philanthropic work includes past president and current board member of Anchorage International Rotary Club. She has also served on the Board of Directors for the non-profit Thread.
