Compliance / Grievances

AK Child & Family is committed to providing quality treatment and care to Alaska’s children and youth in compliance with all required regulations, laws and statutes. In accordance with requirements issued by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and the Department of Health and Human Services Officer of the Inspector General (OIG), AK Child & Family has a compliance program and a designated compliance officer to ensure that agency operations meet all federal and state requirements and address areas that are not meeting these requirements. All employees, contractors, and volunteers who provide services for AK Child & Family are expected to conform to the agency’s Code of Ethics.

Students and families who have concerns or grievances regarding the services they are receiving at AK Child & Family are encouraged to use the Consumer Problem Resolution procedures outlined in the Consumer Handbook. Concerns about the quality or safety of our services, or reports of inappropriate, unethical, or illegal activities being conducted on behalf of AK Child & Family, may also be communicated to Jeannie Fanning, the agency’s Compliance Officer. Concerns can be reported via mail, fax, email, phone, or in-person. Reports can be made anonymously and will be handled in a timely manner with sensitivity, discretion, and confidentiality to the extent allowed by the circumstances and the law.
