New Treatment Foster Home

I am super excited to welcome our new Treatment Foster Home to our family here at AK Child & Family.
They are Bart & Julie Goode and here is a little insight into them:

Bart and Julie Goode live in Eagle River, Alaska with their two dogs, Thor and Jack and a kitty named Luci. Bart works for the State of Alaska where he is the programmer for the Alaska WIC (Women Infants and Children) program. Julie formerly worked with kids age 3-18, as a case manager at Denali Family Services; she recently decided to stay home and devote her time to therapeutic foster care. They have six children between them, all grown and quite successful in their chosen fields of work.

Bart and Julie are outdoor enthusiasts who enjoy fishing, hiking, camping, skiing, running, biking and canoeing. They stay busy with their active lifestyle, enjoying all that Alaska has to offer. Both Bart and Julie participate in bowling during the winter months and are actively involved in youth programs in Eagle River; Julie is a director and webmaster for the Greater Anchorage United States Bowling Congress. She is also a mentor with the Alaska Military Youth Academy and teaches Junior Achievement at a local elementary school. Julie also sits on the Board of Directors for the University of Alaska, Fairbanks, Cooperative Extension.

Bart restores cars and motorcycles in his spare time, during the colder months, so the garage is typically a bustle of activity. He is currently restoring a 1970's dirt bike back to its original condition. Julie is an avid cook/baker who sells her goods by special order; on any given day the aroma of freshly baked bread or a large batch of cupcakes wafts through the Goode home. Bart enjoys all the cooking and baking, stating, "I'm spoiled; she is the best cook ever!"

Bart and Julie are excited about their recent foster care licensing and are pleased to be a part of Alaska Child and Family.
