Donating to AK Child & Family is your chance to make a difference in the life of a child. Many of the children who come to our care are dealing with hardships that no child should have to face alone. AK Child & Family is a support network of people and programs designed to meet the individual needs of the community’s most at-risk population: young people battling behavioral and psychiatric issues.
We serve kids who exhibit dangerous behaviors such as self-harm, verbal and physical aggression, and substance abuse. At 34%, the majority of the children placed in our care come from inpatient facilities. With these obstacles in mind, our goal is to help children tackle the challenges facing them today to secure healthy futures.
The AK Child & Family campus in Anchorage becomes home to kids while they receive care for an average of six to 12 months. We offer much more than Residential Treatment. Our programs include Treatment Foster Care, Teen Group Homes, and Home Based Services.
Data gathered through our Outcomes Management Program show that our programs are working. Surveys show that 71% of the children discharged from our care no longer engage in high-risk behaviors, and 59% are able to go home to stable environments. We achieve these lasting results by collaborating with parents and guardians to create the best treatment plan for each individual. It’s only through donations like yours that we are able to continue this vital work.
We cannot continue providing these life-changing programs without the support of people like you. As a nonprofit we rely on donations to fund our services. You can donate here, via credit card, or mail a check to 4600 Abbott Road Anchorage, AK 99507. We also accept donations over the phone at (907) 348-9230.
